These general terms and conditions apply to the sale by Théâtre Varia of performance tickets and ‘Season Passes’, subject to the specific provisions applicable to certain booking options.
They are subject to change at any time and without notice in the interests of the smooth running of Théâtre Varia’s activities
Confirmation of the booking by the purchaser and payment for the tickets imply their unreserved acceptance of these terms and conditions of sale.
The purchaser acknowledges that, in the event that these terms and conditions are not complied with, they will be refused entry to the venue without compensation.
PRICES
The applicable prices are those indicated on the website, displayed at the Théâtre Varia box office and in any programmes.
TICKETS FOR PERFORMANCES: The ‘Pay what you can’ scheme applies. There is therefore no longer a single ticket price. For each performance, the purchaser may choose from several price options.
SEASON PASS: This gives access to all 24 performances of the season. For each performance, you can book a seat on the date of your choice (subject to availability). The ‘Pay what you can’ scheme also applies here. The Season Pass is not valid for the Kunstenfestivaldesarts performance at Théâtre Varia.
All prices are subject to change without notice. However, tickets will be charged at the rates in force at the time you confirm your order. They are only confirmed once we have confirmed receipt of the required payment.

COLLECTION OF TICKETS AND “SEASON PASSES”
The ticket(s) or “Season Pass” and the online purchase confirmation must be checked by the purchaser upon receipt. No subsequent claims will be accepted.
Tickets issued are unique.
Tickets and "Season Passes" are sent to the purchaser by email in the form of e-tickets (to be printed or downloaded onto a smartphone). If presenting a paper copy of the e-ticket, it must be printed on a single sheet of A4 white paper (not double-sided) using good-quality paper that ensures the barcode is legible, or presented via a smartphone with sufficient resolution at the time of checking.
Tickets may be collected on site by the purchaser before the performance at the box office, no earlier than one hour and no later than fifteen minutes before the start of the performance, upon presentation of the booking confirmation email.
Admission to the performance is subject to ticket validation. The ticket is valid only on the date and under the conditions of use stated on it. One ticket corresponds to each seat purchased. It is not possible to gain admission multiple times with the same ticket. The reproduction of tickets is prohibited. Only the first person to present the ticket will be admitted to the event. They are presumed to be the legitimate holder of the ticket. It is therefore prohibited to reproduce, duplicate or counterfeit the ticket in any way, or to make it available for such purposes. You should never accept a ticket from a stranger, as it may be a copy. Théâtre Varia may refuse entry to the performance if multiple printouts, reproductions, copies or imitations of a home-printable ticket are in circulation and access to the event has already been granted to a ticket holder.
However, duplicates may be printed in the event of theft or loss, upon presentation of proof of identity, the confirmation email received when purchasing tickets online, or if the booking can be traced via the ticketing system. In this case, the ticket may be collected on the day of the performance no earlier than one hour and no later than thirty minutes before the start of the performance.
ONLINE SALES
Ticket prices are quoted in euros, inclusive of all taxes. Certain reduced rates, particularly group rates, may not be available for online purchase.
Your order for performance tickets is only definitively confirmed once payment has been received.
Payment by bank transfer is accepted online if the booking is made at least three days before the performance date.
The online payment transaction is processed by the Mollie system. This transaction is carried out via a secure, SSL-encrypted system. Under no circumstances and at no time does credit card information pass through the Mollie server. Once Mollie confirms that the order has been validated, your card will be debited.
If you encounter any issues with payment: please check the validity and authorised limit of your card.
Some banks require an additional code for online purchases; please contact your bank for further information.
CONFIRMATION
You declare that you have read and accepted these terms and conditions in full prior to finalising your order. Acceptance of the terms and conditions, by ticking the box “I have read the terms and conditions”, allows you to confirm your order.
The order for tickets is only binding on Théâtre Varia upon receipt of an email confirming payment of the transaction. We therefore advise you to check your email.
Once an order has been confirmed, the sale is final and binding. No changes or cancellations to the purchase are permitted. In accordance with the Economic Law Code, distance and off-premises sales are not subject to a right of withdrawal by the purchaser, as this is a leisure activity for which the contract specifies a specific date or period of performance.
The data recorded by Théâtre Varia constitutes proof of all transactions made with the purchaser. The data recorded by the secure payment system constitutes proof of financial transactions with the purchaser.
SEATING
Unreserved seating: audience members are free to choose their own seats in the auditorium. However, the seating arrangement may be altered in exceptional circumstances. It is always possible to reserve a seat for people with reduced mobility. In this case, please contact the theatre box office.
CHANGES/CANCELLATIONS TO A PERFORMANCE
Théâtre Varia reserves the right to make any changes to the order, duration and cast of the performance. Furthermore, Théâtre Varia reserves the right to cancel any performance that cannot take place due to unforeseeable circumstances or force majeure, such as (and without this list being exhaustive) bad weather, pandemic, strike, fire, terrorist attack, war, water damage, illness of a performer, etc. In such a case, Théâtre Varia would propose an alternative performance date (a rescheduling) or, failing that, a refund of the ticket.
In the event of a performance being interrupted after the first half of the show, tickets cannot be returned, exchanged for another date, or refunded. Refunds are made exclusively by bank transfer.
Requests for refunds or ticket exchanges must be made by email to reservation@varia.be or by telephone on +32 (0)2 640 35 50.
USE OF THE TICKET
Tickets cannot be returned or exchanged. They are valid only for the venue, performance, date and time stated on the ticket.
The ticket must be accompanied by its validation coupon. If it has a barcode, the ticket may be checked using an electronic optical reader.
It must be kept for the entire duration of your stay at the venue and must be presented during any security checks on site.
The Théâtre Varia cannot under any circumstances be held liable for the issue of counterfeit tickets.
ACCESS TO THE PERFORMANCE
Barring unforeseen circumstances, the performance begins at the time stated at the time of booking.
The venue doors generally open 5 minutes before the performance – or even earlier, depending on specific admission procedures.
Once the theatre doors have closed, latecomers will not be admitted. Where possible, they will be seated during an interval in the performance, subject to availability. Otherwise, their seat will be forfeited without compensation. Due to the layout of certain venues, or artistic constraints inherent to certain performances, it may not be possible to admit latecomers.
The duration of the performance varies and is only known a few days before the show.
For security reasons, audience members may be asked to show the contents of their bags at the entrance. Rucksacks, sports bags, suitcases, scooters, folding bikes, unicycles, skateboards, etc. are not permitted in the auditorium and remain the responsibility of their owners.
It is strictly forbidden to bring into the venue any object that could be used as a projectile, any dangerous object, or any pyrotechnic item.
Mobile phones must be switched off for the duration of the performance.
INTELLECTUAL PROPERTY RIGHTS AND IMAGE RIGHTS
Théâtre Varia retains all intellectual property rights to which it is entitled in relation to the performance. Except where copyright law provides otherwise, the ticket holder may not infringe in any way upon the copyright of Théâtre Varia and/or that of any third party (directors, actors, etc.).
It is prohibited to photograph, film or record the performance in any form whatsoever, unless explicit permission has been granted.
If Théâtre Varia has arranged for the performance to be filmed and/or photographed, members of the audience may appear incidentally in the recording. By accepting these terms and conditions and/or attending the performance, the purchaser and/or the person(s) for whom they are purchasing one or more tickets agree that their image may be reproduced(including, in particular, a shot of the auditorium showing the audience) as part of this recording and to be used, in any form whatsoever, by Théâtre Varia. This right is granted worldwide free of charge.
COMPLAINTS – DISPUTES
Any dispute must be submitted in writing to Théâtre Varia – 78, rue du Sceptre, 1050 Brussels or by email to reservation@varia.be no later than the day after the performance.
No subsequent complaints will be considered.
The sale of tickets by Théâtre Varia is subject to Belgian law. In the event of a dispute, only the French-speaking courts of Brussels shall have jurisdiction.
For online sales, information on alternative dispute resolution methods can be obtained via the link http://ec.europa.eu/odr/
