5 nominations for the Maeterlinck Awards for plays created and/or staged at Varia!
We are delighted to announce that four of our plays and performances, staged this season and next, have been nominated for the prestigious Maeterlinck Prize. Not to mention the Espoir award for Adrien de Biasi, drag queen, and Drag Couenne in *Hippocampe*.
These nominations perfectly reflect our commitment to offering a diverse programme at Varia, featuring a variety of mediums, innovative performances and family theatre accessible to all. We are proud to have been able to provide a platform and support the voices of everyone involved in these productions, who are now seeing their work recognised by the critics.
Among the nominees are Hippocampe by Lylybeth Merle and Jusque dans nos lits by Lucile Saada Choquet, nominated for the Discovery Award. La Fracture by Yasmine Yahiatène, which will be performed next November at the Studio following several performances and a premiere at Atelier 210, is nominated for the Best Set Design Award. Finally, the show "En Familles" Beaux jeunes monstres by the WOW! Collective is nominated for the Artistic and Technical Creation Award. Also worth noting is the nomination of Adrien De Biasi, aka Drag Couenne, in the Rising Star category.
Each production is the result of a collective effort, a talented and passionate team, and inspired artists. It is with great joy that we see these stories come to life on our stage, captivating audiences and transporting them to worlds in the making.
But these nominations are not merely a celebration of our theatre. They are also an opportunity to witness ever-new stories taking shape within our walls. They remind us that theatre is a living art, constantly evolving.
That is why we are more determined than ever to continue offering bold and varied programming. We want to offer our audience moments of magic, wonder and reflection. We want to create spaces where artists can express themselves freely and where audiences can escape and connect with the stories unfolding before them.
Thank you for joining us on this wonderful journey.
