Urban Escapes: An audio tour to explore this summer in the Théâtre Varia neighbourhood

Les Echappées Urbaines is a creation by Isabelle Jonniaux / IN VIVO 5.12. A multidisciplinary artist based in Brussels, Isabelle is a writer, performer and director; she combines playwriting with other artistic practices: installation, street theatre, photography and sound design. She is particularly interested in public space, exploring various forms of writing and site-specific, participatory formats.

The route of this Echappée Urbaine, “Le Cercle des Symboles”, begins in front of the Théâtre Varia on Rue du Sceptre. It then winds its way through the gardens of Parc Léopold to reach the heart of Europe. It is dotted with symbols and legendary gates, and plays on spaces and times with shifting realities.

After scanning the QR code located at our entrance outside, follow this route on your mobile phone. You can also access the route via the Echappées website 👣 www.echappeesurbaines.be
