FABRIQUE – A conversation with Fatou Traoré

Co-director of "Belle Dame"

Are you aged 14 or over? Join us on 30 September from 3 pm to 6 pm, followed by the performance, for a workshop based on *Belle Dame*, Jessica Fanhan’s debut production.

What is this space between reality and fiction, the theatre’s favourite playground? What impact do the stories we tell ourselves have on reality?

This workshop will offer an opportunity to experience storytelling. Your own: what you want to put into it and how you share it. That of others: how you remember it and how you pass it on. Together, participants will explore the power of subjectivity by telling each other’s stories.

By retelling their own story, seeking to fill in the gaps and making it heard, everyone can thus take part in the Big Picture, using a thousand voices to prevent the idea of a single ‘true’ version.

Participation in La Fabrique requires attendance at the Belle Dame performance. Participants are only required to pay for their ticket (pay-what-you-can basis). You can book your ticket by clicking here.

Places are limited; registration is required via: reservation@varia.be

The Factories

Following on from several performances, Les Fabriques offer you the chance to get right to the heart of the creative process. These fun and exclusive sessions will allow you to meet the artists on the programme, to engage in an intimate dialogue with them ahead of the performance, to discover their craft from the inside and to experience a glimpse of their working methods. Selected facilitators lead these workshops, for adults or families, over a drink or a snack.

Information and booking: reservation@varia.be

Price: Free, with a ticket for the performance on the same day

Dates: Linked to a performance date

Special note: Registration required
