What do you think is the most beautiful song in the world?

Be part of Marie Lecomte’s new creation!

Marie Lecomte, creator of the show *La plus belle chanson du monde*, is calling for stories. She is looking for the song that holds a special place in your heart, along with the personal story behind it.

I’ve always loved stories, people’s stories; perhaps that’s why I ended up in theatre, because in theatre we tell stories that are often based on true stories – even if they become fiction, there’s always a little bit of truth in them. And I’ve always loved songs too, because for me, songs are also little stories. And this project, The Most Beautiful Song in the World, is a bit of a mix of the two—a mix of personal stories and song stories.

I’m looking for stories that tell me why a song suddenly becomes THE song for someone. Is it linked to a moment in life, a romantic encounter, the loss of someone, a life-changing event? Often in our teens, we shape our identities through songs, and for me, it’s really tied to specific moments. So that’s what I’m looking for: stories of life moments linked to songs!

This innovative initiative aims to bring to life a unique show in collaboration with the city’s residents. This gives you the chance to become one of the protagonists of this experience! Your stories, whether signed or anonymous, will help shape this emotionally charged show; *The Most Beautiful Song in the World* will be performed in March 2024 at the Théâtre Varia.

Spread the word about this project to anyone it might resonate with and send your audio or written stories to laplusbellechansonbruxelles@gmail.com or via the dedicated Instagram account @laplusbellechanson.bxl. Marie Lecomte would be delighted to hear from you, listen to your stories, and perhaps even meet up to chat about your favourite song!
